4 Summary of Quality Examinations
The Tokyo Regional Taxation Bureau held Tokyo Regional Sake Awards 2025 and examined the entries in the five categories of Ginjo, Jummai Ginjo, Warmed sake(Kanzake), Jummai Warmed sake(Jummai Kanzake), and Honkaku Shochu. The initial judgments took place on September 17 and 18 and the final judgment was on September 24.
Each of the examination was performed by judges who are proficient in the sensory evaluation. Taste, aroma, and the harmony of flavors were evaluated deliberately and impartially, by using an identification of the characteristic and a scoring method.
As a result, the honor prizes were awarded to 8 breweries in the Ginjo category, 12 breweries in the Jummai Ginjo category, 9 breweries in the Warmed sake(Kanzake) category, 11 breweries in the Jummai Warmed sake(Jummai Kanzake) category, and 4 distilleries in the Honkaku Shochu category.
