The National Tax Agency of Japan (NTA) provides telephone-based multilingual interpreter services in order to ensure smooth communication during administrative guidance, tax examinations, and tax payment consultations.
When this service is used, a multilingual call center contracted by the National Tax Agency may place a telephone call to you on behalf of the relevant Regional Taxation Bureau or Tax Office.
For this reason, the telephone number displayed on your phone may be that of the multilingual call center and not the direct number of the Regional Taxation Bureau or Tax Office.

Ask you to operate an automated teller machine (ATM) at a bank or other financial institution.
