The Tax Museum is an institute showing historical tax materials for the general public. You are free to learn tax history, and each content arouses curiosity of not only tax specialists but also ordinary citizens and students.

We introduce Japanese tax history from ancient era through Edo era at the entrance hall.


Lecture Room: We provide explanation by video projectors here. It is also used for tax education. Reference Room: This is a room for reference of tax materials. You can search for materials easily by PC here.

Exhibition Room has Permanent Exhibition Corner by the wall and Special Exhibition Corner at the center of the floor.

Information

We have many materials other than materials in the Exhibition, and you can refer these materials. If you want to refer them, please fill in the application form for reference of materials with necessary information, and hand in at the front desk.

If you want to copy or take pictures, please fill in the application form for copying/taking pictures of materials with necessary information and hand in at the front desk.

If you want to reprint or post in publications, please fill in the application form for reprinting/posting of materials with necessary information and hand in at the front desk.

We generally don’t lend materials, but we may lend them only when libraries, museums, and other institutes use them for exhibition, and it helps enhancing tax awareness.
